Description: Pro bono leaders in Texas continue to make a real difference for those who cannot access our justice system, but unfortunately, the need for pro bono services has grown at even a faster rate. In this CLE, some of our state's most committed and innovative pro bono leaders will identify and discuss the lessons they have learned while balancing the scales of justice. Join us for two panel discussions introduced by Texas Supreme Court Justice Brett Busby and moderated by David R. McAtee II, Sr. Executive Vice President & General Counsel at AT&T Inc.:

1. Straight Talk on Pro Bono: Law firm and corporate counsel pro bono experts will engage in a tactical discussion on how to implement best practices and overcome obstacles in pro bono.

(Speakers: Sylvia Mayer, S. Mayer Law PLLC & Houston Pro Bono Joint Initiative; Kate Barry, Kirkland & Ellis; Scott Young, Toyota North America; Sarah Teachout, Trinity Industries, Inc.)

2. A Case-Study: When a corporate legal department, a law firm, a legal aid organization, and a non-profit join hands, big things can happen. Join in to learn how this team implemented a unique pro bona partnership that brings success to survivors of human trafficking.

(Speakers: Priya Aiyar, General Counsel at American Airlines; Evan Singer. Jones Day)
